The Noise and Community Affairs committee (NACA) brings together a progressive group of airport professionals and consultants who specialize in aircraft noise. This group seeks solutions and recognizes success. They issue awards for noise abatement and community outreach. The awards recognize proactive solutions to aviation noise issues.
Noise Abatement Award – Recognition of a project that reduces the impact of aircraft operations on a neighboring community using operational measures versus land use compatibility actions. Community Affairs Award – Recognition of a program or project that contributes to the education of the community regarding the benefits of the airport (economic and/or otherwise) and/or steps the airport is taking to positively influence public opinion regarding the airport.
